Our Story
Curating the Andes, one shelf at a time.
The story behind Inka Coffee.
Why South America?
South America is one of the world's great pantries. The Andes hold microclimates that produce coffees you can't replicate anywhere else — high-altitude citrus and floral lots from Cajamarca, chocolatey washed beans from Huila, fruity naturals from Minas Gerais. Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, and Peru each grow coffees with their own signature.
Beyond coffee, the same mountains give us cacao, maca, lúcuma, sacha inchi and quinua — superfoods that have sustained Andean civilizations for thousands of years.
But finding the good stuff is hard. Most of what reaches U.S. shelves is commodity-grade, anonymous, or branded under names that have nothing to do with where the beans actually came from. That's where we come in.
What we do.
We're not a roaster. We're not a farm. We're a curator.
We spend our time tasting, comparing, and selecting specialty coffees and Andean pantry products from independent suppliers and roasters across the Americas. The ones that make it into our store have to earn it — by origin, by flavor, by story, by traceability.
When you buy from us, you're not buying a brand we made up. You're buying something we picked because it deserves to be picked.
How we choose.
Three filters. If a product fails any of them, it doesn't make our shelf:
1. Origin you can name.
We need to know where it came from — country, region, ideally farm or roaster. No anonymous blends.
2. A maker you can trust.
Small or independent producers. Award winners, third-wave roasters, family-owned operations. No mass-market industrial brands.
3. Flavor that earns its price.
Specialty grade or better. Light to medium roasts when possible. Real cupping notes, not marketing fluff.

Why “Inka”?
The Inca civilization built a network across the Andes that moved cacao, quinua, and dozens of other staples between mountains, valleys, and coastlines. Long before global supply chains existed, the Andes already had one. We borrow the name as a nod to that tradition — and as a reminder that South America has been growing extraordinary food a lot longer than the rest of us have been drinking it.
We're a small team based in Peru, shipping from the United States, curating South America's pantry for kitchens up north.
